Welcome to The Humanity Studio!
Your weekly dose of humanity
We’re so glad you’re here!
Today, we want to share a bit about who we are, why we’re doing this, and what you can expect each week when this newsletter lands in your inbox.
Our Story
Each of us at The Humanity Studio has experienced the power of leadership—both as employees and as leaders. We’ve seen it inspire change, spark innovation, and build cultures where people thrive. But we’ve also seen leadership’s darker side: driven by ego, disconnected from empathy, and trapped in outdated norms that overlook the human element.
This is what brought us together and fuels our mission: to develop emotionally mature leaders who put humanity back at the heart of business.
If we’re going to tackle the complex challenges facing our workplaces, economies, and communities, leadership needs to be redefined. Change doesn’t need to be dramatic; it’s the small, daily shifts in mindset and behavior that create lasting impact.
That’s why we founded The Humanity Studio—to build a community of leaders committed to self-reflection, growth, and learning. Together, we can create a future where work drives human progress.
We believe regular reflection and learning are key to real change. This space is for leaders who want more than quick tips—you know growth requires intention and effort.

This Month’s Theme
Each month, we’ll dive into a theme tied to our mission of developing emotionally mature leaders. For October, we're starting with the essentials of emotional maturity: what does it mean, and why does it even matter?
10-Minute Takeaway
To kick off this month's theme, let's explore how our personal narratives shape the way we lead:
Identify a Leadership Story: Think about a recent situation where you felt uncertain, defensive, or overly critical in a leadership context. What story were you telling yourself in that moment? For example, "I'm not qualified to make this decision," or "If I show vulnerability, they'll see me as weak," or perhaps “No one else can do this as well as me.”
Dig into the Origin: Where do you think this story comes from? Is it tied to past experiences, feedback you've received, or internalized beliefs about what it means to be a leader or simply of value to others?
Assess the Impact: How did this internal narrative influence your behavior and decisions? Did it lead to actions that either helped or hindered your effectiveness as a leader?
Challenge the Story: Ask yourself, Is this story true? How might your leadership change if you reframed this narrative? What would happen if you chose to tell yourself a different story, one rooted in self-awareness, confidence, and trust?
Tip: As we explore this month, pay attention to the stories you tell yourself—not just about you, but also about others. These narratives shape how you engage with your team. In the weeks to come, we'll discuss how to move beyond these stories to become a more emotionally mature leader.
